Toronto Condo Water Damage: Glue-Down Removal and New Engineered Hardwood, Cabinets Left in Place

After a leak, we removed the fully glued-down floor, scraped the subfloor clean, and installed new engineered hardwood tight to the existing cabinets, with no cabinet removal needed.

The Problem

A water leak damaged a full-spread glue-down floor in a Toronto condo. Glued floors are among the hardest to remove, and the kitchen cabinets had to stay in place.

What We Did

We removed the damaged floor and scraped off all of the old adhesive to give the new floor a clean, flat base. We then installed engineered hardwood with precise cuts along the cabinets.

The Result

A clean, level floor that looks like it was installed before the cabinets went in. Skipping the scraping step is a common shortcut, and it’s why some floors fail early.
